Newest Birthday Book Club Member

We welcome our newest Birthday Book Club Member. As a member of the Birthday Book Club, she got to select a new book that would become a part of the library's permanent collection. Along with the sponsor fee, the Birthday Book Club is subsidised by the Friends of the Lake City Public Library

Library Committe to Investigate New Library Facility

Mayor Dunbar has appointed a community task force (The Library Committee) to investigate the requirements of a new library. They will be considering location, and studying the benefits of building a new structure or remodeling an existing one. Other important issues are funding for the project, and finding available grants. They plan to meet on the first Monday and the third Wednesday of each month until August, at 6:30 p.m., at the library. They also plan to hold a Public Forum in early Spring. Public input will be greatly appreciated. A suggestion box has been set up in the library to give residents a chance to share their ideas.

The Library Committee includes Deirdre Flesche, not pictured, Farrel Rich, Grant Cooper, Pat Blum, John McCann, Cheryl Huettl, Roger Forland, Larry Flater and Marty Wenger. The Library Administrator liaison is Kathie Durand.
